We were looking up at a clear sky and suddly thousands of migrating birds filled the sky at Merced Wildlife Refuge. Waves upon waves. You would not believe how many birds could be up there without crashing into each other.
I would estimate we saw around 4,000 to 6,000 before the sunset faded after 20 minutes, [...]
